Jim's Golf Art.

I am a “Dirt Artist”! I create things out of dirt. For the longest time I wasn’t sure who should actually get credit when a golf course was finished. Sure, the Shaper (Dirt Artist) is responsible for the actual creation of features, but the architect is the one describing what he wants. So… who is the Artist… and is this really Art? Art by Webster’s definition is “The conscious use of skill and creative imagination, especially in the production of aesthetic objects”. So then, by definition, this is Art. Ok, then who is the Artist? Since no single person is responsible for what is created, I would have to call this Collaborative Art.

Obviously, I am a huge fan of this form of Art... that’s why I have added this page. My artists tool of choice is a bulldozer. I can draw and paint, but not like these people below. The drawings that are on this page were done for me, based on conversations, and in some cases, rough sketches. They are a compilation of shared thoughts, in this case... put to paper. Collaborative Art! I hope you enjoy these and remember to look for the subtleties. As new ideas are born, this gallery will evolve and expand, so check back often!

If you would like to collaborate with me on golf related themes and showcase your work on this page, please contact me.
